Mantis™ has completed its first welding trials

After progressing from individual components to assembly, commissioning and calibration, the first Mantis™ robotic welding system has now successfully performed its first welds.

In this latest update, CEO Mark Pivac showcases several test welds completed using a temporary Fronius welding setup, including down-hand flux core welds, fillet welds and horizontal groove welds - some of the most common weld geometries encountered in heavy fabrication.

While Mantis™'s final twin-wire welding systems are still to arrive, these initial trials represent an important milestone in validating the robot's dynamic stabilisation, calibration and welding capability.

The early results have been extremely encouraging.
